About

Preserving our German Heritage

Founded in 1971, over the past 50 years the German Canadian Club of Aylmer - Saxonia Hall has grown to over 200 members and has become a large part of our regional community. It has hosted many events, and has opened its doors to the public for weddings, conferences, business meetings, and family gatherings. The Saxonia Hall is known in the community for its hospitality, cuisine and cultural contributions and authentic atmosphere.

The membership of the German Canadian Club of Aylmer is made up of many different German ancestral groups, including Siebenbürger Saxons and Schwabens, among others.

The German Canadian Club of Aylmer is a member of the Landsmannschaft der Siebenbürger Sachsen in Canada (the Alliance of Transylvanian Saxons in Canada). It provides a place for its members to meet and share in their heritage, to gather with their friends, remember their homeland, speak a common language and celebrate their lives in Canada. The Saxonia Hall houses many artifacts, pictures, embroidered and handcrafted pieces of art and a library of German books. You need only to visit our club to experience the pride the members take in their heritage.
